System controls
System controls handle KINGSTAR PLC (KINGSTAR PLC Runtime), KINGSTAR Subsystem and Real-Time Subsystem (RTX64 Subsystem).
- KINGSTAR PLC: KINGSTAR PLC only appears if you have the KINGSTAR PLC license. You can toggle the button to turn on or off KINGSTAR PLC Runtime. RTX64 TCP/IP Stack is started when KINGSTAR PLC is turned on. For more details about KINGSTAR PLC, please refer to KINGSTAR PLC.
NOTE: If you have the KINGSTAR PLC license, KINGSTAR PLC will appear only when instance 0 is selected for the Control Panel. If instance other than 0 is selected for the Control Panel, KINGSTAR PLC will not appear. For example, KINGSTAR PLC will not be displayed on the Control Panel with instance 1, 2 or 3.
- KINGSTAR Subsystem: You can toggle the button to turn on or off the KINGSTAR Subsystem. When it is turned on, it shows an EtherCAT connection icon
. If you connect your hardware to the KINGSTAR Subsystem after the Subsystem is turned on, it will detect the connection and show the Disconnect text. You can click Disconnect to disconnect the hardware from the KINGSTAR Subsystem. RTX64 Network Abstraction Layer is started when KINGSTAR Subsystem is turned on.
- Real-Time Subsystem: You can toggle the button to turn on or off the Real-Time Subsystem (RTX64 Subsystem).
NOTE: If the Subsystem is not booted from the RTX64 boot configuration, a warning message will appear to instruct users to configure the RTSS boot configuration through the Activation Utility.
OPC UA Server: When any existing OPC UA connection has called the KINGSTAR EtherCAT or Motion API, or has accessed PLC or KINGSTAR variables, the OPC UA Server will appear. By clicking Disconnect, it disconnects OPC UA clients (the connected clients) that are using the Real-Time Subsystem. This includes the clients who are calling KINGSTAR EtherCAT or Motion APIs, and the ones accessing the PLC or KINGSTAR variables through OPC UA. Remote Configuration Tools and Scopes that are connected to the Runtime of the computer will also be disconnected.
NOTE: KINGSTAR EtherCAT and Motion APIs can be called through OPC UA or called directly on the Runtime computer without OPC UA.
Hover to the "OPC UA Server " , it will show the connection status (number of connections for each user role) in the tooltip.
